THE EASIEST THANKSGIVING MENU (EVER!)
Two sides, one biscuit, a refreshing salad and a beloved make-ahead dessert that travels Plus: a downloadable recipe PDF with a complete shopping list.
Happy Sunday, friends!
I’m back with a very easy menu for your upcoming Thanksgiving holidays—one that is easy to make at home or take on the road. Setting the turkey aside for a moment (stay tuned!), here’s an idea for an easy accompanying menu you can make entirely in less than three hours, with some light prep one to two days in advance.
This is your stripped-down but still hits all the notes Thanksgiving menu. It includes two mouthwatering sides, a bracing salad, a savory offering for the bread basket, and a simple, stunning make-ahead dessert. These recipes are flavor and texture galore.
What’s brilliant about this menu is that both sides can be made in an Instant Pot or stovetop, leaving the oven free for the turkey, pies, or my tender cranberry cake. The salad, an oft-overlooked Thanksgiving essential, brings a crisp, fresh element to the table that compliments everything. Make it with blue cheese, as seen here, or shaved parmesan or pecorino. Switch the pears for apples and the walnuts for toasted almonds. You get the idea.
The Easiest Ever Thanksgiving Lineup:
Creamy Root Vegetable Mash (make day of)
Maple Cinnamon Squash Agrodolce (steam squash 2 hrs in advance, sauce when serving)
Cheddar Cornmeal Biscuits (prep + refrigerate dough ahead; bake day of)
Pear, Fennel, and Celery Salad (shave the vegetables ahead, toss together day of)
Almost Famous Cranberry Bundt Cake (bake 1 day ahead)
