Your article made me want to meet your parents. You portrayed them beautifully. I love hearing about people who are making the best of difficult situations.

Thank you, Patty. They are such sweet, kind souls--and perfect compliments to each other (my mom is there to reign in my dad's wild ambitions at times, and he pushes her out of her comfort zone!). Thank you for reading and for your lovely. note.

I think I made my dad blush with this one. He said I can only write about my mother from now on. He's off the hook for a while now, at least. :) Thank you, as always, for being here. It's always a joy to see your notes.

What a beautiful homage to your dad. And what a beautiful compote!

Thank you, Nicki. I realize I write a lot about Andras' family, because their habits and customs are still newer and alluring to me. Because keeping my own family in a safe little secret pocket gives me a quiet place to retreat and restore myself on visits and in my own brain. But both my parents deserve a lot of celebrating. They are so, so loving. I'm on a journey to be more like them. x

I love hearing about your dad and mom, but I am so sorry to hear that she has Parkinson's. Such a beautiful soul should not have to bear that burden. At least she has an excellent doctor by her side.

Thank you for this lovely note, Barb. My mom is the sweetest soul, and she has given so so much to her children, her community, her church, neighbors and friends. It's painful to see how these these often effect those who've done nothing but share love and kindness all their lives. She working hard to stay strong, and my dad is taking beautiful care. 🤍
