THE SUMMER LIST

THE SUMMER LIST

My new favorite wine, summer lunch, Sunday read, easy marinade, family game, and culinary travel (think: Italy!) to season your summer, plus an evening reset to change your whole week.

THE SUMMER LIST

Hello!!

The summer solstice has come (and gone!), and with it, balmy days and beautiful nights full of fireflies and crisp, inky skies. We’re already 12 days in, with the sunburns and poison ivy to prove it (both kids—face and shoulders. Thanks, summer!).

Last week, between splashing at the pool and welcoming guests for bonfires and sundaes, I started compiling a list of all the best things that have come on my radar and feel perfect for right now. If you’ve been around long enough to remember Martha Stewart's Good Things, you might call this list Good Things: The Italian Issue (with touches of France and Americana in the mix).

This is a different kind of letter, as erratic and unstructured as our first few summer days have already been, but likewise, full of little gifts. If you pay attention, there are always little gifts—moments of triumph, like discovering already dressed garlicky kale salad on the counter, at the same moment you have your first handful of plump cherry tomatoes and just enough pieces of bacon in the fridge to fry up crispy and golden into a spicy summer BLT (more on that, below).

I hope you enjoy!

xx

Sarah
