12 RECIPES FOR CHOCOLATE LOVERS
Fudgy, cakey, crispy, creamy: the best of the best from my chocolate files, plus a quiet rebellion of busyness
Hello, Happy February!
I have lots of healthy and delicious things to share with you in the next few weeks, but since Valentine’s Day is right around the corner (and I can’t go a day without chocolate in some form), here’s a roundup of the most velvety, crispy, gooey, and gorgeously chocolatey recipes from my Substack, books, and website (plus a bonus recipe from a friend).
Is this chocolate food porn? Yes—yes, it is. It is intended to pull you from your chair and directly into your kitchen to crank up your whisks and ovens and make something for the ones you love.
As for me, I’m showing love to myself this month by making time to rest and read: read in bed with my toes touching my husband’s, read on the couch with my children’s legs lapped over mine, read in the car, at schoolyard while my son plays, and the ski lodge by the big window drenched in a pool of sunshine.
Reading more is a subtle pursuit of a little life, a moment of what writer Caitlyn Richardson calls a quiet rebellion. If you’re curious about this kind of living, read her piece: The quiet rebellion of a little life.
“Choosing a little life is an act of defiance. It’s a way of saying I will not measure my worth by how much I achieve or acquire. I will measure it by how deeply I live.” - Caitlyn Richardson
Here’s to a February of simple pleasures with the ones you love. Leave a note below about what simple pleasures or small acts make you feel the most loved or loving (be they chocolate-related or otherwise)—moments of quiet rebellion, joy, or rest you hope to share with someone you love this month. And if you’re feeling generous, please leave the name of the last great book you read. My 2025 book list is growing longer by the day—the most delicious anticipation.
Much love.
xx
Sarah
